God's Plan of Redemption: 'The Order of Salvation'
The Scriptures tell us that all of mankind has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and that all who have sinned will pay the penalty of death, and after death, will face eternal punishment. They also tell us what God's response is to this deplorable situation.
Before time began, God in His infinite mercy, put together a plan of Redemption in which He chose to meet our greatest need, the need for Salvation, and this through His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ (the promised Messiah).
Many have, for over 2,000 years, heard the narrative of the miraculous conception, and the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus the Christ (the Messiah), and are familiar with the fact that Jesus earned our Salvation, and now makes it possible for us to be free from the penalties of sin, both now and for all eternity. Few however, are aware of how God actually applies the work of Jesus, to the lives of sinners in order that they may be pardoned and set free.
To help us understand, theologians have demonstrated from Scripture how God enables us to acquire Salvation, from God the Father, through God the Son, by God the Holy Spirit.
The way of Redemption is technically referred to as the 'Order of Salvation' or in its Latin form the 'Ordo Salutis'. The pages, to the left of the screen, represent the order in which redemption begins and ends, and will contain a brief outline of each event, and their corresponding relationships to each other.
We should note that items 2-6 and part of 7 are involved in 'becoming a Christian'.
Numbers 7 and 8 work themselves out in this life, number 9 occurs at the end of this life, and number 10 occurs when Jesus returns in glory.
