Putting it Altogether...
The Order of Salvation, or 'Ordo Salutis', is the doctrine of 'Redemption Accomplished and Applied', it traces the decisions and actions of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit in bringing about the redemption of sinners.
The Father chooses to save sinners who believe in the finished work of His only begotten Son, and to apply the outcome to sinners, through Himself, and through the Holy Spirit.
Election, Calling, Regeneration, Conversion, Justification and Adoption are all decisions and actions taken by God to enable us to believe and to respond to the glorious gospel of Christ.
It is necessary for God to take these decisions and actions because we are dead spiritually in our transgressions and sins, and our bodies are physically decaying. We therefore have no means of our own, by which we can effect salvation for ourselves. In response to the gospel call, God brings about our Regeneration, Conversion, Justification and Adoption.
In addition, God chooses to view us as Sanctified in Christ; made righteous.
Even though we have no righteousness of our own, God chooses to enable us to change into the likeness and image of His Son, and helps us to 'clean up our act' and live a Christlike life in this world. This process is called Sanctification and is something we engage in with God's help so that we may grow more and more sin free; as we progress in our walk with God.
Sanctification and Perseverance work themselves out in this life, with God's help and our cooperation. Death is the final act in this life prior to the return of Christ, and Glorification occurs at the return of Christ. So then how should those who believe live?
Galatians 2:20..."I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."
