Mystical Theology - appears to be an oxymoron - is it possible to have a theology of human centred inner experiences, and altered states of consciousness? On the surface (to coin a phrase) the term 'theology' would seem to be at variance because its primary focus is upon God Himself. Theology is the study of God not of ourselves.

Mysticism is less to do with God

And more to do with the inner man / person / space / or true self. Proportionately the inner world (should it exist) is of greater focus, and the goal is not to get to know God, but to become like God (where have we heard that one before!), through self-induced meditative techniques.

Terminology is frequently subject to change

Of meaning for example, Mysticism = Spirituality = Mysticism, or Mystical Union = union with God = union with the human and divine essence = Deification, or Mystery = Mysticism Authentic Christian terminology with a long history of theological, and hermeneutical meaning, is twisted to support Mysticism.

Mystical expressions, when seen in the light of the Word of God, and authentic Christian doctrine, Mysticism truly is the 'Emperor with no clothes'.
