Divine Inspiration
Divine Inspiration addresses the question: Does the Bible come from God? What prompts this question is the uncertainty of unbelief, and the elevation of human thought and experience above the word of God.
We have a tendency in our fallen condition to assume that we know best, and that we can sit in judgement on God's word, with the unfortunate consequence of raising ourselves above God; whose word it is. We place greater store in science, enlightenment teaching and beliefs, secular and religious world-views, and our own unsanctified mind-set, than we do in the word of God.
The beginning and end of faith, stands on what we believe about Scripture, whether we stand in judgement on the word of God, or whether we allow the word of God to stand in judgement of us.
The Scriptures tell us: "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work." (2 Tim. 3:16)
These sacred writings are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (2 Tim 3:15)
Albeit that the words on parchment, or paper, are indeed the words of men, since they are the scribes and the men who utter the words, it is God who superintends, employ and guides them.
Their narratives, doctrines, or commandments, are not the words of human wisdom, but the very words of God; authorised by God the Father, taught to them in person by Jesus God the Son, and by divine inspiration through God the Holy Spirit, thus God Himself put the seal of authority and approval on them.
God Himself, is the author of all these commands, and the revealer of all the truths contained within. He is also the one, who caused them to be given to His people in the order, and in the measure that he deemed suitable for His own Divine purposes.
