The Dhimmi

BAT YE'OR, brought to the world's attention the terms DHIMMI and Dhimmitude as designators that highlighted the plight of Jews and Christians under the rule of Islam.

There is a direct relationship to this designation and the outcome of Jihad-war, as the conquered people became 'dhimmi' the 'protected people'. However, such protection comes at a high price, and whilst the main focus is upon Jews and Christians, it should be stated that such a position of total servitude and subjugation is applicable to all conquered peoples, in the land where Jihad-war is considered to have been won by Islam.

BAT YE'OR also brought to our attention concern over European and Arab-Muslim political and economic integration, resulting in anti-Semitic policies towards Israel and anti-American stances against support for Israel.
