When we talk about human rights, we should mean something that is so important that it applies to all people all the time, for example: the protection of life, and the basic freedom and security of the person. What give these rights a universality is that they are considered to exist on the basis that people have them from the simple fact that they are human beings. Whilst acknowledging that such rights do exist in law, and apply to us as human beings, we must bear in mind that we are now New Creations, and that persecution will happen to us: (John 15:20-22)
"[A] servant is no greater than his master, if they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will keep yours. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me"
It is a personal decision to give up, or to enforce ones human rights in pursuit of the gospel. One must consider that the Christian, in life, is called to sacrificial living, and if need be to give their life for another, and follow wherever He leads, we are Ambassadors for Christ.
